Homemade garam masala is a blend of aromatic spices that add depth of flavor to dishes.
Here is a simple recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp cumin seeds
 - 2 tbsp coriander seeds
 - 1 tbsp cardamom pods
 - 1 tsp black pepper corns
 - 1 tsp cinnamon sticks
 - 1 tsp cloves
 - 2 bay leaves
 - 1 tsp nutmeg
 
Instructions:
- Dry roast the cumin seeds, coriander seeds, cardamom pods, peppercorns, cinnamon sticks, and cloves in a pan over medium heat until fragrant.
 - Remove from heat and let cool.
 - Once cooled, add the roasted spices along with bay leaves and nutmeg to a spice grinder or a blender.
 - Blend until you get a fine powder.
 - Store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
